AUPE Women's Committee Duties

AUPE's Constitution sets out the duties of the Women's Committee as follows:

The Women's Committee shall:

  1. Promote the education of the members and the public on equality, discrimination and related issues especially as they relate to women;
  2. Encourage involvement of women in Union activities and promote support for women's issues;
  3. Cooperate and liaise with other organizations in this common area of jurisdiction;
  4. Draft policies, briefs and other presentations on issues of concern;
  5. Initiate action and participate in meetings, conferences, conventions and education courses on issues of concern to women and coordinate these with other committees and organizations;
  6. Establish a resource base on issues of discrimination and equality to identify, examine, analyze and exchange information with other groups.
