AUPE continues fight for benefits, prepares for negotiations at Newport Harbour
EDMONTON – The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees is challenging an Alberta Labour Relations Board ruling in regard to the loss of benefits by approximately 140 members employed at the Newport Harbour Care Centre.
Hillcrest Information Picket
Local 048 members gathered at the Extendicare Hillcrest location in Calgary to protest stalled negotiations with their employer. Members at six Extendicare location across Alberta are affected by drawn-out negotiations with their employer. They have not received an increase in pay or benefits since January 2008. AUPE President Guy Smith attended the picket, and addressed the crowd.
AUPE continues to represent AADAC members during judicial review of AHS consolidation
EDMONTON – The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees will continue to represent Alberta Health Services members formerly employed by the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission, following a stay of a decision to consolidate health sector employees into four province-wide bargaining units.
